Terms of Use

Last updated: 8 June 2026

These terms govern your use of the Soton Crossings website (sotoncrossings.co.uk) and the Soton Crossings iOS app. By using either, you agree to them.

What Soton Crossings is

Soton Crossings shows a live, best-guess status for Southampton's level crossings — currently Mount Pleasant Road, St Denys — derived from open Network Rail / National Rail signalling data. It is an independent project and is not an official source and not affiliated with Network Rail.

Safety — please read. Soton Crossings is for information only. It is a best guess and can be wrong, delayed, or unavailable. It is not a signalling or safety device. Always obey the crossing's own lights, alarms and barriers. Never use this app or site to decide whether it is safe to cross.

No warranty

The information is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. We don't guarantee it is accurate, complete, available, or up to date.

Payment

The iOS app is a one-time paid download from Apple's App Store (there is no subscription). Pricing is shown in the App Store. Purchases, billing and refunds are handled by Apple under its terms; we don't process payments.

Acceptable use

Please don't misuse the service — for example by attempting to disrupt it, scrape it at scale, or break the law. The service and its content remain our property; these terms don't grant you ownership of them.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, Soton Crossings. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes

We may update these terms; we'll change the date above when we do. Continued use means you accept the update.
